- Goals: Shannon & Casey envisioned a warm, intimate Yosemite wedding that felt relaxed yet elevated.
- Vision: A serene ceremony beneath the trees at Cathedral Beach followed by a lively and polished celebration at Tenaya Lodge.
- Client Feelings: The couple & their guests had never been to Yosemite before, so they wanted a guide A-Z. With many moving parts and locations, they wanted full support managing logistics, timelines, and details so they could stay present and relaxed throughout their wedding weekend.
How We Executed
1: planning recon meetings
We worked through their vision step by step, ensuring the ceremony setting, guest flow, and reception timeline all felt cohesive, intentional, and elegant.
2: logistics and coordination
From vendor communication to contracts and detailed timelines, we handled all coordination and ensured both locations were planned, setup, & executed thoughtfully and efficiently.
3: execution
Before the wedding, we finalized timelines and setup details. On the day-of, we arrived early to manage ceremony setup at Cathedral Beach, guided vendors, and supported Shannon & Casey throughout the day—creating a smooth, stress-free experience from vows to last dance.
The specific design in their reception room at Tenaya Lodge required drapery & lighting be setup first, followed by their other décor, so we included a multi-step setup & strike sheets.

“Trust me, you want to plan a wedding with Jess. There are not enough positive words to describe the role she played in our big day.
She was our wedding planner, day of coordinator & overall cheerleader. We planned our Yosemite wedding ceremony at Cathedral beach & reception at Tenaya lodge from across the country in Georgia. We had never been to Yosemite and did all of our planning virtually with Jess over the course of about a year. Additionally, she helped us coordinate our rehearsal dinner and day after tour in the park.
Jess is a Yosemite expert and has great relationships with local vendors. She takes the time to get to know you and then makes knowledgeable recommendations that will fit exactly what you are looking for.
I have been known to be described as a “Type-A” person & Jess met and exceeded all of my “high” expectations. She kept every promise, she followed through, and paid attention to details. There is NOT ONE THING that we would change about our wedding & time in Yosemite and that is because Jess made sure everything was perfect.
She is calm cool and collected, but will absolutely stand up for her couples when she needs to. I was comfortable turning large responsibilities over to her, and that says a lot about the trust that was built during our time planning together. I called her an “angel” during our rehearsal and I mean that whole heartedly.
Jess was the best decision we made early in our wedding planning journey. You will not regret planning with The Wandering Bride!”
