When one of my Pines Resort Bride’s, Krista Matthewsen, asked me to handle the detailing & full coordination of her lakeside teepee village wedding reception on the Gazebo Lawn at Bass Lake, I couldn’t have been more excited! Her lakeside vision of ‘Happy Campers’ was just dreamy and I couldn’t wait to bring her teepee village campsite to life. Krista’s thought was to bring a full interactive campsite to life next to her wedding reception and call it “Happy Camper’s.” This setup was perfect at Bass Lake in the Sierra National Forest – a campers dream setting amongst the tall Pines & beautiful water!

Several teepees set the stage for the village setup and were decked out with lace tops, fun pillows, & bright paper flowers that adorned each teepee top. The setting was made with these super fun elements and the free spirited sayings that were printed on things like, Wild, Outdoorsy, & Happy Campers. Once the teepee village was set, grand couches & coffee tables were added in surrounding the teepees along with cocktail tables dressed in emerald green linens that were topped with gorgeous bright summer blooms. The campsite wouldn’t be complete without ample lanterns & candles to light the way as the sun went down. This Bass Lake teepee village wedding reception was ready for a party!

The Couple got married in the catholic church across Bass Lake from The Pines Resort and had their guests join the reception at The Gazebo area starting with cocktail hour. I loved hearing the excitement in the guests voices as they noticed the teepee village setup next to the reception and loved watching the smiles emerge as they ventured into the fun. As the reception went on, more campsite elements were introduced for the guests to enjoy…S’mores around a campfire, blankets for when they got chilly, and of course, all the dancing those heels could take! Happy Campers indeed.
