Styled Shoot at the Red Barn
in Coarsegold, CA
For the opening of The Red Barn Coarsegold, I wanted to design the “perfect wedding” that fit the style of the boho western barn and showed couples what their day could look like at the barn. I was able to gather all of my favorite local vendors to create a dream styled shoot at the Red Barn!
I started thinking about the vibe I wanted to set with the design of the styled shoot. I saw dark wood farm tables, layered table runners with Ivory cheese cloth & macrame, and tall brass candles with mixed color candlesticks. Blue lounge chairs would complete the Sweetheart table along with a unique layered drapery backdrop with both black & white drapery and hanging industrial string lights. For the ceremony, I saw a simple circle arch with the mountain backdrop behind it and seen perfectly through the circle along with potted cacti in terracotta pots lined down the aisle.
I knew I wanted to use the trending dried floral, palm leaves, & Pampas grass for the arrangements with muted florals & greenery added in. I designed it around a blue & pampas color palate with pops of burnt orange & red. I love working with Jennifer at The Enchanted Florist for creative designs and she just brought my vision to life so perfectly. From the angled elaborate floral arrangement on the circle arch, to the raised centerpiece, & bridal bouquet – they were all exactly what I had envisioned and mocked up in my head. A flawless boho aesthetic was set!
For dressing the Bride & Groom, I saw a western Bride & Groom with a bit of a bohemian flair. An open back wedding dress that was completely lace and had a great train. I wanted the Bride to have a hat instead of a veil, but not a cowboy hat, just with a bit of country style. Complete with cowboy boots and a mix of turquoise & heavily beaded jewelry. For him, it had to be real cowboy hat & boots, along with a suede vest over a button up and jeans.
