Fall in the Forest Styled Shoot
in the Sierra National Forest
Fall in the forest, or here in the Sierra Nevada mountains, has a special kind of air to it for me. It could be the crisp cool breeze that lingers more than not or the excitement of the holidays drawing near. While the west coast may not necessarily be known for our fall foliage like our opposite east coast may be, we do have some secret spots that are worth making a trek for. Fall in Yosemite and the Sierra National Forest are two of those underrated spots for me! The vibrant orange yellow that the oak tree leaves turn to mixed with the everlasting green of the pine trees set our mountains aglow unlike any other time of the year. The perfect inspiration for my Fall in the Forest Styled Shoot in the Sierra National Forest.
I picked a deep burgundy color and pampas grass elements to then be my main decor pops opposite the fall setting. All the boho free-spirited feels were what I wanted mixed with the forest simplicity. The great outdoors was to speak for so much of the ambience, so none of the other elements needed to be too loud or bold. Just the right complement! A burgundy velvet table drape was the perfect table top setting for the almost naked buttercream cake topped with vibrant colored macarons. ‘Adventure’ adorned the table in a script sign set as the backdrop of the table while a macrame runner was hung on the front of the table. I then paired copper toasting glasses with a vintage cake plate for the perfect finishing touches to the table setup in the forest.
The ceremony site was picked in front of the most gorgeous dead oak tree in the perfect orange hue! Instead of an arch, I choose to display pampas grass with wild eucalyptus in more modern large galvanized buckets framing the couple. I then lined the aisle with boho macrame rugs for barely there color add-in’s that drew your eye down the aisle. With the stunning bouquet of giant King Protea’s mixed with greenery and pampas grass, the scene was set! A perfect fall day for a styled wedding shoot in the forest.
