Goals & Vision
we listen, then make magic
- Goals: To create an unorthodox, intimate Yosemite wedding day that showcased the beauty Lauren & Grant so loved about Yosemite. To bring in natural design elements that really popped against the Yosemite background. They wanted to create an unforgettable experience in Yosemite.
- Vision: Lauren & Grant wanted all of their wedding day events to be in beautiful outdoor locations within Yosemite. They wanted bright & cheerful wedding aesthetics. All the while, they did not want to worry about how the day came together.
- Client Feelings: Lauren & Grant came to me when they were first considering a Yosemite wedding. They really did not know how or where to even begin to plan their day or how to bring all of their ideas to life.
How We Executed
1:Design Meeting
I couldn’t wait to learn more about everything that inspired Lauren & Grant!
This meeting is full of questions that build on each other to learn what the couple loves. We figure out what they’re drawn to visually and what would be exciting for them to have as part of their wedding day design.
2: Mood Board & Lookbook
Once I had a clear idea of the aesthetic & eco-friendly wants for their day, I got to work on designing the different moving parts that make up the actual wedding setup.
The ceremony decor and brunch reception picnic table designs were the main design pieces. This included the reception full tablescape design, ceremony decor, and personal florals.
I designed these digitally for Lauren & Grant to see what these elements will actually look like on their day.
3: Sourced & Styled
Once designs are approved, I get to work sourcing and working out the logistics. This includes deliveries & pickups, for the wedding day.
We put a clear plan in place for rental deliveries, floral orders, and everything needed in between, depending on the locations. This allows me to design each setup seamlessly with everything that is needed for each location.

Jess is absolutely incredible. She made my Yosemite wedding dreams come true!
When I first decided I wanted to get married outdoors in Yosemite, I was completely overwhelmed at HOW one even does that. Luckily I found Jess early in the process and she was exactly who I needed. (I didn’t ever think I would hire a wedding planner but it was SO WORTH IT).
We had our ceremony at Glacier Point and reception picnic at Cathedral Beach. With Jess’ expertise, it honestly felt like a fairytale! She helped every step of the way, from designing the brunch table layout, to picking up rentals, coordinating with my vendors, setting up the ceremony and brunch spots, and being a comforting, warm presence during our entire day!
I really felt like Jess went above and beyond to make sure every little detail was considered, so that on our wedding day everything went smoother than I could’ve ever dreamed of. A perfect day, 10/10!! I would highly recommend The Wandering Bride to anyone who wants to make their Yosemite wedding dreams come true.
